Little Blue Penguin Box photos

Check out our Gisborne Herald article about our penguin boxes here#

Our Inquiry Topic is:

This term we made penguin boxes because we care about the environment.

We did this because we like native animals

We placed our penguin boxes.

To monitor our penguin boxes we used google maps.

Nga Manu Waiata will further support us by giving us traps to place by the penguin boxes.

Welcome to My Blog

Hi my names Jackson and welcome to my blog. I am going to show you what we do at Wainui beach school.😜 Please leave me some positive comments.

Stingray feeding

I hopped in a car to dive Tatapouri. We finally arrived there they had a talk to us and told us to put on these things called waders. Waders are these big green things with gumboots stuck to them. They went up just past my waist waders are meant to keep you dry in the water we got down to the beach. A man called Alex explained to us what different species of stingrays we will see out there one was called an eagle ray and another called a short tail ray. He said we wouldn't see much short tailed rays out there. We couldn't lift our feet of the ground cause we could accidentally step on a sea creature. We finally got out there the waders stick to your legs once there touching water.

He told us to stop in a line once we out there. He lored stingrays out over to us and kept doing it. I saw a kingfish I thought to myself it’s not fast I thought kingfish were fast. Than Tristin dipped his hand in the water and the kingfish bursted Tristan's whole hand when in a kingfish mouth it was bleeding he was OK though. We saw two giant stingrays.I got my waders off and went back to school it was fun.
